Pumpkins in Minecraft are oddly overpowered.

Image
I know, it may seem like an odd statement to make, but trust me when I tell you that I've been thinking about this for a while now, and the more it runs around my head, the more sense it makes. In order to explain myself better, I'm gonna divide this essay into 3 sections: Pumpkin Pies and Pumpkin farming. Carved Pumpkins: Golem summoning. Carved Pumpkins: Talking to Endermen Can you already make more sense of this idea? Let's get into it. VIDEO HERE:  LINK A pumpkin is one of the 400 items you can find in the Minecraft inventory. Not particularly hard to get, as it requires only grass blocks with air above (clear of any plants such as flowers or grass), and it can generate whether or not that grass block has a layer of snow. Though they only have 1⁄32 chance to generate on each chunk (which makes them rarer than diamond ores), they are one of the most powerful items, usable in all 3 dimensions, and for several different purposes. When playing last year, I realized that the

Duermo con la luz abierta: A review of the Blinding Lights Remix ft. Rosalía (re-post)

(this entry is a repost as blogger had issues with the previous link ) Hi! Hope you're doing amazing in this trying times, I know it's been a long year but the celebrations are already here so I wish you happy holidays. Now, let's talk about this song. To be completely honest I kinda disliked the song without even hearing it, because Rosalía was in it and I don’t like her music. I’m not saying she’s a bad singer, I just don’t like her, but I thought to myself: “No dude, you’re biased, if you want to find out whether you like or dislike the song you have to listen to it”. And so I did. And I didn’t hate it, but for sure I didn’t like it.  So I decided to make a review of the song in general, both from a musical and from a marketing point of view. Here's the song so you can listen to it:         Let’s talk music.   Song kept the same Synth Pop style, so good for that. Vocal opens with Rosalía. First thing I noticed is that the way she was singing was weird, I li

Why are oddly satisfying videos, satisfying?

Image
I wanna make sure we’re on the same page here. We’re talking about the well-known satisfying videos, like the ones cutting soap, playing around with slime, removing paint from the bottom of a bucket, or the ones with the hydraulic press crushing things; or straight up cleaning videos: A pressure washer removing the dirt off a street, or a video of some guys cleaning a room or restocking food on shelves. So In the past days I quit my old day job and got a new one, moved to a different studio, the one you saw in the last video, also got into a different gym and with all those changes I decided it would be good to clean my house and take out a lot of useless stuff that is basically rubbish. On Tuesday I cleaned the garage and it felt so satisfying taking out everything that I needed to throw away… and it kept feeling satisfying throughout the days, just looking at the almost empty and now clean room, but why? I am never satisfied with a half ass response so I researched a little bit

we have forgotten the true meaning of nostalgia.

We have forgotten the true meaning of nostalgia. We have forgotten that nostalgia is not only a matter of time, but also the feelings that it evokes, the nostalgic feeling itself. Before you start to read, you can hear the article here: Some people argue that you cannot feel nostalgia for something that is less than 10 or 20 years old, in some cases even a longer time; but that’s not true. Nostalgia is not about times that have passed, it’s about what you can remember from said times, how you feel things were a little better. Having a global pandemic above my head, has made me realize that I am nostalgic for things that happened about 9 or 10 years ago, but also from events that occurred in 2019 or 2020. One of the best ways for me to explain this to you is through music. In my personal Spotify account, I have several playlists, two of those are “i could’ve enjoyed being a kid a little more” and “i turned 18 but I’m still a kid” . Let’s see what I mean with each one of them.

4 Good and Bad things about the Spanish Language.

Thursday, August 27, 2020 Sure, I make my videos in english most of the time but that doesn't mean I've forgotten where I come from and that appart of english I have spoken spanish all my life, mostly because I live in a spanish speaking country. Anyway, a lot of native english speakers find it difficult, and it makes sense, spanish can be a mess... but also can be easy. Today I'm re-writing the script I made for the video on youtube, so you can read it here on my blog and use it for research or entertainment or to make fun of me and my lame (but surprisingly going well)  attempt to be a language nerd and amateur self taught linguist. Without further ado:   Good things 1:  The letter egne (Ñ, ñ): it is written on the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) as ɲ (a voiced palatal nasal) has a unique sound in spanish, and even tho we use it as part of our everyday conversations it helps a lot when distinguishing words. For example in Italian you have ano and anno, that wo

Monday, May 4, 2020 Hey! This is your host hatto. and today I'm introducing you to my blog. I have been thinking about this since 2014 (even before I started making videos) but I took a step back since I didn't have a good english level at that point, nor I was able to focus enough to write. But I think I am now, so, without further ado, welcome to: My written blog and my personal space for some interesting things that I want to talk about. So for my first entry I will tell you about me, who am I and what I do. I'm not gonna say I'm somebody exceptional, or hyper talented, but I love what I do, whether it is the videos or the music, and so I give the best of me. I was born in San José, Costa Rica on July 21, 2000. I had a nice childhood, but all the juicy part started when I got into music. I was 8. I was at a parade with my family and the local governor started talking about SiNEM (National Musical Education System), for its acronym in Spanish '&#
